Q-Matic Number System

In order to better serve the public and to improve efficiency in the Immigrant Visa Unit’s waiting room, we have implemented the Q-Matic number system.   Now, applicants will no longer be called by name at their interview time. Instead, each person or family who enters the Consular Section with an appointment for an immigrant visa interview will receive a 3-digit number upon arrival. Applicants with an open appointment will also receive a number when checking in at Window 26 or 27, if they are required to be interviewed again.

This number will be used to call applicants to the interview windows. After receiving their numbers, applicants should take a seat in the waiting area and wait until their number directing them to an interview window is displayed on the screens.  The numbers will also be announced over the public address system.

It is important to pay close attention to the screens and listen for the correct number.  Numbers will be called twice.  If you miss your number, we will call another case to the window and your interview will occur at the end of the interviewing day.
