Through the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation, the
Department of State helps legible countries preserve historical
sites and manuscripts, museum collections, and traditional forms of
music, dance and language. The Office of Education and Cultural
Affairs manages the Fund established by Congress in 2001 to help
less developed nations preserve their cultural heritage. “The
Ambassador’s Fund demonstrates in measurable ways the engagement the
United States has of understanding and preserving the heritage of
others,” as expressed by Assistant Secretary of State for Education
and Cultural Affairs, Patricia Harrison. |
